What is NIS2 / the Dutch Cybersecurity Act?

NIS2 is the European directive on network and information security, implemented in the Netherlands as the Cyberbeveiligingswet. Since 15 August 2026, designated sectors have had a duty of care, an incident reporting duty and a registration obligation with the NCSC — with no transition period. SMEs that supply organisations in scope are pulled in through the supply-chain obligation.
